Yea Racing 2024-25 season finishes with St Pats Cup

THE final meeting of the 2024-25 Yea Racing season took place last Sunday, with the Sister Olive St Pats Cup attended by over 700 people.

There were two millimetres of rain overnight on the Saturday, though it didn’t affect the track on race day.

Eight Shout’s was the winning horse for the 3000-metre race, ridden by jockey Sebastian Galea and trained by Troy Kilgower. This was followed by Peace Process, ridden by Ben Moffat, and All Too Creedy, ridden by Shaun Cooper, rounding out the podium.

Race one (1600 metre) winner was Downtown Man, ridden by Melinda McDonald. Race two (1600 metre) winning horse was Smart Ace, ridden by Shaun Cooper.

Race three (1300 metre) winner was Annoy’en One ridden by Sebastian Galea again.

Race four (1200 metre) winner was Bonsafox ridden by Dylan Dean.

Race five was the St Pats Cup, and the race six (1600 metre) winner was Lord Cat ridden by Craig Kirkpatrick.

With the final race at Yea for 2024-25 over and done with, Yea Racing President Al Tait reported it’s been a great season and thanked the various community organisations involved with running the race meets throughout the year.
