Winter in Alex means beanies, wood and food

THE foggy morning didn’t stop locals and visitors from seeing what was on offer around Alexandra over the weekend.

On Saturday morning, the annual Community Wood Auction hit off with plenty of trailers and other goods to keep you warm for winter.

The Wood Auction funds went to the following local organisations, Lucy Wilson a local cheerleading champion, Alexandra Primary School, Alexandra Kindergarten, Alexandra Scout Group, Alexandra Lions Club, Alexandra Poultry Club, Koriella CFA, Buxton Primary School and the Upper Goulburn Branch of the Australian Deer Association.

Just under 30 trailers were auctioned and the beauty was not only did it support local community groups, the wood also got delivered to your home.

Over the road Alexandra Quilters had their quilts on display at the RSL Clubrooms.

Some beautiful quilts showed many different forms of modern and traditional quilting methods.

At the Shire Hall, Buxton Primary School were braving the cold selling some amazing homemade sweets to all the people entering the hall.
