ON the long weekend, Fallon Family Racing made the 18 hour round trip in scorching temperatures to Waikerie, South Australia for Will to compete in the SSA Junior Sedans South Australian State Title.
Will finished second in his first and second heats and third in his third heat (by .001 costing him five points) which qualified him out of position five for the 20 lap final.
In the thrilling final, Will overtook several cars early and had an enduring battle with Cruz Carlin who lead for most of the race, until Will overtook him on the last lap.
A crash brought on the yellow (caution) lights and the restart saw a green (go), white (last lap) chequered flag end to the final.
Each season SSA Junior Sedans run a National Title, which Will finished AUS4 in January and each state has a State Title, independent of each other. Will is now SA1 and NSW5.
After qualifying fourth, unfortunately Will did not finish the Victorian State Title final in Wangaratta due to a flat tyre when in third with four laps to go. Will will return to Kingaroy, Queensland next month to compete in the SSA Junior Sedan Queensland State Title.
Will also races in the Junior Sedans Promotion Association (JSPA) which race at different tracks across Victoria for points. The series has Top Stars (for more experienced drivers) and New Stars (for learning and upcoming drivers) aged 10 to 16.
Will won the JSPA Top Stars series last year for the 2023-24 race season and is busy…
