THE Yea Junior Netball Division One team faced a challenging week, being slightly undermanned with three regular players unavailable.
However, the wonderful players from the Division Two team stepped up to fill the gaps and support their teammates.
Ivy and Isla formed a strong defensive lineup in the goalkeeper and goal defence positions, respectively.
They were backed by Belle, Holly, Zoe, and Brooklyn, who rotated through the wing defence position, keeping consistent pressure on the opposition.

IT was safe to say that these girls were happy to be back on the court last weekend after an extended break.
They were so impressive from the first centre pass. They showcased their evolving skills, listened to feedback and then went to work to adjust and follow the coach’s instructions.

COMING into the final games of the season coach Cronk is working on combinations and teams with the team and the Yea girls stepped it up another notch and continued to work hard in each combination.
The Tiger’s first three quarters were settled with no rolling subs and the fourth the rolling subs returned without having any detrimental effect in any third as the girls transitioned seamlessly into their roles.
Yea were the victors by 19 in a game that was a pleasure to watch with both teams…
LAST weekend the under 15s travelled over to a frosty Seymour to take on the St Mary’s Saints.
The team had been working on a range of skills that they were hoping to implement in preparation for the finals’ series.
Jemma stepped in as centre with Marley as her wing attack and Sophie and Hannah in goals.
The Tigers got off to a solid start, breaking several of St Mary’s centre passes and working as a team in the goal circle to consolidate these gains.
Lily, Elsie and Flynn in defence made sure that the ball was in the St Mary’s shooting third for a very brief period of time for being turned over.
As a consequence of their accurate passing, defending and shooting, the scores at the end of the first quarter were St Mary’s one to Yea 20.
Flynn took over the reigns as centre while the shooters also changed to Maya and Marley with Hannah moving back to wing attack to support.
Marley and Maya worked well together in the goals to continue to add to the scoreboard.
Ella in wing defence along with Sienna and Elsie in the goals were relentless in their defending and managed to hold St Mary’s scoreless for this term.
