UNDER a blue sky filled with sunshine and smiles, the Little Athletics community came together for what was truly a perfect day.

The day kicked off with the usual warm up, but with a twist, older athletes teamed up with the littler ones for a series of fun movements, a game of “steal the tails,” and a solid stretching session to get everyone limbered up.

Excitement grew as the presentation of Centre Records began. Records set were Hazel Dalton under seven 500m, Kai Goonan under seven 500m, Shiloh Clacy under eight 700m, Viyan Solanki under nine 700m, Clay Hilder under 12 1100m race walk, Declan Baker under 13 200m hurdles, Charlotte Boulton under 14 200m hurdles, Chase Hilder under 14 Javelin, Cate Caswell under 15 200m hurdles, and Levi Campbell under 14 Shot Put, 200m hurdles, triple jump. With so many records already shattered so early in the season, we’re gearing up for even more success at the Regional Level later this year.

In other exciting news, Murrindindi’s very own Levi Campbell has earned a place on the Victorian development tour team heading to New Zealand from January 8 to 15.

Levi will compete over three days at the North Island Colgate Games, the biggest annual athletic event for juniors aged seven to 14.
