New Senior Sergeant for Murrindindi Shire

NOELLA Bannon is the new Senior Sergeant (officer in charge) for Murrindindi, and will also be undertaking the Municipal Emergency Response Coordinator (MERC) role.

Noella grew up in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and has had property in Murrindindi Shire for about 15 years.

She’s been a member for Victoria Police for almost 33 years, with the majority of her career in the crime investigation and response (I&R) space.

During her career, she’s worked all over the state, including regional and metropolitan, in crime investigation, sexual offences and the sexual crime squad.

“I’ve done pretty much everything,” she said. “The high focus in this area is the community engagement, road policing, farm crime, emergency management and so forth.”

She has undertaken Senior Sergeant roles intermittently since 2009, but she was gazetted as a Family Violence Training Officer in 2020.

Now that she’s Senior Sergeant in the Murrindindi area, she’s keen to increase the community engagement and focus on proactive policing.

“Policing for the community is a high focus, and ensuring that police are available for the community requirements,” she said.
