IT has been a fortnight of ups and downs but thankfully the ups were plenty. A team of athletes had been training for weeks and working towards representing Murrindindi Little Athletics at the Regional Relays in Shepperton on Sunday, November 17. This was unfortunately called off on the morning with many members almost at the venue.

A massive storm cell swept over Shepperton in the early hours of the morning wreaking havoc with the venue and caused power outages. The event was then rescheduled to the next Saturday which did not work for everyone at such short notice, so the big team ended up very small and only able to send one relay team, who then had to endure 37 degrees temperatures. The team did us proud and managed to secure a fourth in the 4×100 metres.

Congratulations to Viyan Solanki, Hamish Dalton, Jake Aldrick, and Logan Steiner on competing at Regional Level.

Over the past two weekends many club records have been broken at the normal Saturday meets. Levi Campbell is leading the charge with club records in under 14 javelin, long jump, high jump, 200 metre hurdles, and shot put,  Ivy Duncan under nine 700 metre race walk and 70 metre sprint, Cate Caswell in the under 15 200 metre hurdles, Charlotte Boulton in the under 14 200 metre hurdles, Clay Hilder in the under 12 1100 metre race walk, Hazel Dalton in the under seven 500 metre, Sienna Duncan in the under 12 1100 metre race walk, and Kai Goonan in the under seven 70 metre Sprint.

Many members have been achieving bronze personal best medallions and….
