Police in Alexandra have been getting an early start on Operation Nexus today. They have now moved on from the location pictured below.

The road safety operation runs from 12.01am on Thursday to 11.59pm on Monday and is aimed at reducing road trauma.

Police will be conducting widespread drug and alcohol testing. Major arterials and roads leading to regional Victoria and holiday hotspots will be key areas of enforcement.

The effort will include marked and unmarked vehicles as well as the force’s booze and drug bus fleet.

CRIME IN CAVEAT

Alexandra Detectives are investigating after a stolen Nissan Navara was located and a Honda Civic stolen in Caveat yesterday.

Police are appealing to witnesses who observed the Nissan Navara or silver Honda Civic in the Eildon, Thornton, Yarck, Caveat areas, or anyone with information, CCTV or dash-cam footage that may assist the investigation to contact Alexandra CIU or Crime Stoppers.

Police have also released the images of two people that may be able to assist their enquiries and are appealing to anyone who can help identify these people to contact the Alexandra CIU on 03 5772 1667 or Crime Stoppers www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
