THE Rotary Club of Yea is part of both District 9790 and an international network of clubs who all work towards achieving common goals with the motto, ‘Service Above Self’.
Last Wednesday, October 16, District Governor Stephen O’Connell OAM and his wife Carol, met with members and partners of the six clubs that make up zone four. The Rotary Club of Yea, with President Penny Paxman, hosted the event in the function room of the Country Club of Yea with almost 80 in attendance.
Presidents and members were present from Alexandra, Kinglake Ranges, Mansfield, Seymour, Southern Mitchell and of course Yea.
It was a lovely evening of fellowship and networking with all Rotarian enjoying the opportunity to share ideas and form meaningful partnerships.
Carol O’Connell is raising funds during the current Rotary year to support Interplast and raised almost $400 for this worthy cause via a lucky draw.
An estimated 143 million people each year go without surgical attention they urgently need. More than 99 million of those cases are in Asia and Oceania, where Interplast works.
Interplast provides free reconstructive surgery to those most in need and delivers high quality training for local medical professionals in 17 partner countries.
