THE Buxton Progress Association (BPA) are conducting a survey to help assess local support for moving the 60km/h signs on Maroondah Highway, at the northern end of the township, further north.

The township has grown to the north and there are now driveways and two other intersections outside the current 60km/h zone.

Concerns have been raised by residents who reside in that area about the speed of vehicles on the highway when they are turning into or out of the many driveways along that stretch of highway.

The Patagorang Place intersection is a short distance from the speed-limit change and too many motorists appear more focused on increasing or decreasing speed than the vehicles turning in front of them.

There are also a large number of wildlife fatalities on this stretch of road, including seven kangaroos and wombats recently.

Narbeview Wildlife Shelter are also keen to have wildlife warning signs installed.
