THE weather forecast suggested that it would be a wet day for golf on Saturday but the misty rain in Marysville didn’t progress to the predicted heavy rain and golfers were able to complete the 18 holes in fairly comfortable conditions.

The ladies played stableford and the winner was Gail Leigh (10) with 34 points. Gail also won three of the four nearest the pins on the fourth, 11th and 18th holes, as well as winning the golden shot.

It was an excellent round by Gail and her skill and consistency is admired by all members.

The runner up was Sabrina Stow (21) with 31 points.

The men played stroke with Steve Coker (19) blitzing the field with nett 69 and Steve Berry (12) with nett 72 was the runner-up.

Steve Berry also won the putting with 28 putts. Gail almost had a clean sweep of the nearest the pins but she left one for Richie Clark to win on the ninth hole.

Next Saturday the golfers will play a stableford round.

Members are reminded that the AGM will be held before play on Saturday, September 14. Those who wish to nominate someone for a position on the committee are asked to do so as soon as possible.
