ON Thursday July 4, Eildon Landcare invited people to participate in their tree planting event between the bridge and car park at the top of the Lower Pondage.

There are seven members of the Eildon Landcare group with most present on the day, and even some visitors took part in the event during their school holidays.

Sue McNair, Environmental officer from Murrindindi Shire Council said that the species being used in the area included weeping grasses, tussock grass (poa), callistemon, blackwood, and other varieties.

Previously the area was full of exotic trees and invasive weeds.
