SO far in 2024, there have been three rescues at the Cathedral Range.

The most recent one was on June 14 on Sugarloaf Peak with no track name mentioned (injury), and the other two were on Wells Cave Track, on June 9 (stuck) and January 19 (injury).

In 2023, there were five rescues.

They were on August 6 on Wells Cave Track (stuck), July 2 on Canyon Walking Track (18 people stuck), on June 18 with an unstated location (four people stuck), June 10 on Wells Cave Track (injured), and April 25 with the location not stated (lost).

The Cathedral Range was closed for repairs due to flood damage between late October 2022 and March 2023.

In 2022, there were six rescues.

They were on October 8 on Jawbone Track (injured), October 2 on the “track to Sugarloaf” (injured), August 30 on Canyon Track (stuck), July 25 on Sugarloaf Peak (search and rescue), April 24 on Razorback Track (injured), and January 3 on Ned’s Peak (missing).

In 2021, there were five rescues. They were on December 28 with the location not stated (injured), July 26 with the location not stated (missing person), April 2 on Razorback Track (medical incident), February 26 on Wells Cave Track (lost), and January 6 on Sugarloaf Peak (injured).

Visitation in 2021 was also down due to COVID-19 lockdowns.

New signage was installed at the Cathedral Range in March 2020.

At these events, volunteers from the CFA and SES, as well as potentially police and ambulance attend.

The rescues would generally have around 15 volunteers at the rescues, and often spend over six hours at the site.
