Eildon bowls: three sides to the grand final

EILDON Bowling Club has succeeded in qualifying its two Saturday Pennant Sides and Tuesday Pennant side into their respective division grand finals.

Saturday Pennant Division four was the battle of Murrindindi as Eildon took on Alexandra at Euroa. It turned out to be the nail biter of the season. Alexandra had been in front all day but Eildon found a way to claw back the lead, leaving both sides tied at 96 shots all after 100 ends of regular play.

This created the need for a sudden death round, where each team plays one more end. Eildon focused hard and managed to take six shots to Alexandra’s zero on the sudden death play off, earning bragging rights and a place in the grand final, to be played against Euroa at Shepparton next Saturday for the 2023/24 season title.

Division seven also had a tight tussle against Rushworth with one side going down by eight shots and the other side prevailing to win by 12 shots. This was a mighty effort from….
