Alexandra information session about proposed changes to bus route 684

IF you would like to have your say on the proposal that bus route 684 from Eildon terminate in Lilydale and Chirnside Park, rather than going through to the Melbourne CBD, this is your opportunity.

The community response survey deadline has been extended to Sunday, April 24. The community can access information and submit their feedback through the online survey at ptv.vic.gov.au/yarravalley, or by calling the PTV customer service team on 1800 800 007 before this date. Both the Healesville and Alexandra libraries have printed versions for the community to fill in.

The community can also attend any of the remaining information sessions, at FoodWorks in Grant Street, Alexandra on Wednesday, April 20 from 11.30am to 1.30pm, and at Coles Supermarket, 251 Maroondah Highway, Healesville on Wednesday, April 20 from 4.30 to 6.30pm.

The Department of Transport will collect and review all responses received during the community engagement period and this will feed into the final proposal of changes to the Yarra Valley bus network.

A Department of Transport spokesperson said, “We encourage residents in Murrindindi Shire to come along to our information session in Alexandra and have their say on the Yarra Valley Bus Network.”

The Department of Transport said that their aim is to “better meet the travel demands of the Yarra Valley community, streamline the network, expand customer travel choices, and improve productivity and patronage on the network.”

The Yarra Valley bus network currently consists of four bus routes, Route 684 Melbourne to Eildon via Healesville, Route 685 Healesville to Lilydale, Route 686 Healesville to Badger Creek and Route 687 Healesville to Chum Creek.

“The proposed changes will make it easier for people to get to where they need to go with additional services, more efficient journeys and better coordination with trains,” the spokesperson said.
