TWO doctors have resigned from Alexandra District Health (ADH). ADH CEO Debbie Rogers was contacted about the departures, and asked about the reasons as well as the actions being undertaken to address any shortages.

Alexandra District Health provided the following statement, “Alexandra District Health (ADH) wishes to advise the community that General Practitioners Dr Vohra and Dr Kovacs have tendered their resignation and will no longer continue their duties at the Health Service. We respect their right to privacy and thank them for their service to ADH.

“We assure the community that we continue to deliver quality care. Dr Ali Taheri and Dr Lachlan Fraser continue to provide medical services to the inpatient ward and urgent care.

“We also continue to draw on the My Emergency Doctor telehealth service, along with our qualified RIPERN nurses. We continue to source doctors for the longer term.

“Safety and quality has and always will underpin our work, and we continue to provide the highest level of care for our community.”

They further advised, “It is a health service open 24/7. The services available to the community haven’t changed.”
